What are the different strategies for creating and deploying software?
Software is written in one of many programming
languages, which are artificial languages that provide instructions for the
computer about how to accept information, process it, and provide output.
Source code includes the statements that programmers write to communicate with
the computer and provide instructions. Object-oriented programming focuses on
objects rather than lists of instructions and routines to manipulate data.
Software is developed commercially by IT companies and licensed to individuals
and companies that use it. One strategy is Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS)
software, which means they are ready to buy, install, and use. A fast-growing
variety of commercially produced software is called software as a service
(SaaS), which is an information system that is owned, hosted, and managed
remotely by a vendor. In custom software development, an organization works
with developers to build software tailored specifically to its needs.

What is cloud computing? How does it support business objectives?
cloud
computing is an ICT architecture in which users access software applications
and information systems remotely over the Internet, rather than locally on an
individual PC or from
servers
in the organization’s data center.Cloud computing allows you to access your
data and programs outside of your own computing environment. Rather than
storing your data and software on your personal computer or server, it is
stored in 'the cloud'. This could include applications, databases, email and
file services.
Cloud computing allows businesses to access their
information virtually, creating a flexible and global way of accessing your
data any place, any time. This guide will help you to understand cloud
computing, and the different ways you could use cloud computing in your
business.
Cloud
computing offers your business many benefits. It allows you to set up what is
essentially a virtual office to give you the flexibility of connecting to your
business anywhere, any time. With the growing number of web-enabled devices
used in today's business environment (e.g. smartphones, tablets), access to
your data is even easier. There are many benefits to moving your business to
the cloud:
·
Reduced IT costs: Moving
to cloud computing may reduce the cost of managing and maintaining your IT
system.
·
Scalability: Your
business can scale up or scale down your operation and storage needs quickly to
suit your situation, allowing flexibility as your needs change. Using the cloud
frees up your time so you can get on with running your business.
·
Business continuity: Protecting
your data and systems is an important part of business continuity planning.
·
Collaboration efficiency:Collaboration
in a cloud environment gives your business the ability to communicate and share
more easily outside of the traditional methods.
·
Flexibility of work
practices: Cloud computing allows employees to be more flexible in their work
practices.
·
Access to automatic
updates: Access to automatic updates for your IT requirements may be included
in your service fee.
